Doolittle), Nick Wyman (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Cathleen Nesbitt (Mrs Higgins) Notes from other traders: Filmed from the balcony, a little off to the side. Some generational loss, but actually pretty good for a video this old with clear sound throughout. |

Lee Merrill (Eliza Doolittle), Frank Langella (Henry Higgins) Notes from other traders: A production of the Houston Grand Opera. Unfortunately, much generational loss, and occasional picture rolling. Doolittle), Stephen Carlisle (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Honor Blackman (Mrs Higgins), Romy Baskerville Almaviva’s notes: Act 2 has a larger resolution than Act 1. Archival recording of the National Theatre production. Notes from other traders: Archival recording. Stunning touring production with a massive cast, fabulous set and costumes. Mostly close up and medium shots but there’s a few amazing wide shots. |

Taryn Fiebig (Eliza Doolittle), Reg Livermore (Henry Higgins), Rhys McConnochie (Colonel Pickering), Matthew Robinson (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Nancye Hayes (Mrs Higgins) Notes: Single camera proshot. Almaviva’s notes: House-cam and pretty sure it was filmed at the Sydney Opera House. |

Taryn Fiebig (Eliza Doolittle), Richard E. Grant (Henry Higgins), Rhys McConnochie (Colonel Pickering), John Wood (Alfred P. Doolittle) Almaviva’s notes: Opera Australia production. Incredibly blurry for a house-cam from 2008. It almost looks like a terrible version of the other house-cam, but will need to compare if they are indeed different. |
Auckland, New Zealand | 2009 | Proshot | VOBs with smalls | 2.05 GB
Taryn Fiebig (Eliza Doolittle), William McInnes (Henry Higgins), Robert Grubb (Alfred P. Doolittle), Hayden Tee (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), IIona Rodgers (Mrs Higgins) Almaviva’s notes: Opera Australia production. A little less blurry than the 2008 Theatre Royal house-cam but I would not rate it A-. Notes from other traders: A presentation by Australian Opera directed by Stuart Maunder filmed from a stationary camera with no zooms. A- |

Franziska Kuropka (Eliza Doolittle), Karl-Heinz Wellerdiek (Henry Higgins), Philip Lüsebrink (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Christiane Reichert (Mrs Pearce) Almaviva’s notes: I got this as 2011, but I am sure this is from February 2010 as the DVD menu is dated thus and the cast matches that of 2010. Adapted as an ensemble piece, among the changes is Freddy Eynsford-Hill now being a student of Henry Higgins. |

Nicole Ferguson (u/s Eliza Doolittle), Laird Mackintosh (Henry Higgins), Kevin Pariseau (Colonel Pickering), Adam Grupper (Alfred P. Doolittle), Gayton Scott (Mrs Pearce), Leslie Alexander (Mrs Higgins), Sam Simahk (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Kaitlyn Frank (s/w Ensemble), George Psomas (s/w Ensemble), Aisha Mitchell, JoAnna Rhinehart, Samantha Sturm Milady de Summer’s master Notes from the master: Overall a well-shot video. Lots of close-ups. However, often turns into a costume fancam with extreme close ups into just the costumes because the master is a period costume nerd. The master’s whine, wheeze, cough, laugh, dying, and other genuine reactions to the show can frequently be heard in the background, but they are minor and don’t distract from the show. About one minute black-out during “With a Little Bit of Luck”. Occasionally a head covers the legs of the actors on stage but is shot around and doesn’t affect much. Side note: The performance doesn’t have any cast slip despite having u/s Eliza and two swings on, therefore it was really hard to figure out who was in the ensemble in this performance and the ensemble cast info is incomplete. |

Shereen Ahmed (Eliza Doolittle), Laird Mackintosh (Henry Higgins), Leslie Alexander (Mrs Higgins), Adam Grupper (Alfred P. Doolittle), Kevin Pariseau (Colonel Pickering), Gayton Scott (Mrs Pearce), Sam Simahk (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), John T. Wolfe (Charles), Kaitlyn Frank (s/w Clara Eynsford-Hill), George Psomas (s/w Ensemble), Michael Williams (Ensemble) Sbeve/QuoxWoodTrees’ master Notes from the master: Complete video with mix of zooms and wide shots. Minimal dropouts and shakiness. Infrequent obstruction on the bottom of the shot due to seat in front of me but I work over it. Asterisks next to John T. Wolfe and Michael Williams because they are not listed at all in the program so I am unsure whether they are replacements, swings or understudies. Hilarious mishap in the beginning when the house set does not stop spinning, Shereen acknowledges it and Laird starts his next line with “As I was saying…” causing lots of laughter and cheering from the audience. Includes full audio from this performance. Almaviva’s notes: The master released two versions: the original version (3.12 GB) with a MP4 and M4A for each act and the edited version (which comes as a single 4.68 GB MP4 file for two acts). |

Doolittle), Cameron Loyal (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Becky Saunders (Mrs Higgins), Madeline Brennan (Mrs Pearce), Daniel James Canaday (Professor Zoltan Karpathy), Diana Craig (Queen of Transylvania), Richard Coleman (Jamie), Kevin D. O’Neil (Harry), Torinae (Mrs Eynsford-Hill), Blair Beasley (Clara Eynsford-Hill), Maeghin Mueller (Mrs Hopkins) mynewfavoriteday’s master Notes from the master: Excellent 4K capture of this newly launched non-equity tour during its first month on the road. It's filmed in 16:9 from the center mezzanine with a mix of wides, mediums, and closeups. There’s no major obstruction or blackouts other than a quick dropout during “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face” and a couple of heads that can be seen at the bottom of the screen during wides that only affect actors’ legs, mostly during Act One. Due to the nature of the show’s lighting, spotlights sometimes affect faces and the picture’s not as sharp during some of the darker scenes, but the color’s great, especially in Act Two. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans. |

Madeline Powell (Eliza Doolittle), Jonathan Grunert (Henry Higgins), John Adkison (Colonel Pickering), Michael Hegarty (Alfred P. O’Neil (Harry), Torinae (Mrs Eynsford-Hill), Blair Beasley (Clara Eynsford-Hill), Maeghin Mueller (Mrs Hopkins) mynewfavoriteday’s master Notes from the master: Great 4K capture of this lovely tour on its last day in Dallas. It’s filmed in 16:9 from the far right orchestra with a mix of wides, mediums, and closeups. There’s no major obstruction other than the tops of heads that can sometimes be seen during wideshots and the sound equipment that blocks some action that takes place on the far side of stage left. There are unfortunately some extended blackouts, notably a two minutes at the top of Act One, three minutes at the top of Act Two, and six minutes during the lengthy scene at Mrs Higgins’ house that's blacked out. There are quick dropouts that take place right after “Wouldn’t it be Loverly?”, Alfred’s bargain, shortly before Eliza’s entrance at the horse race, during “On the Street Where You Live”, and before “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face”, though these don’t last long. The washout is improved from this angle though there’s still some during the darker scenes. The sound is excellent. Includes playbill scans. |

O’Neil (Harry/Ensemble), Kal Kail (Constable/Ensemble), Jackson Hurt (Loverly Quartet/Ensemble) Operachristinedaae’s master Notes from the master: Act 2 only! First time filming with a phone. Captures the left side of the stage but is obstructed by a guy’s head. Almaviva’s notes: Somewhat odd resolution, appears to have been cropped to an almost square picture (660 x 720). Playing the video in VLC Player makes green bars appear on the left and bottom; but it seems to play fine in older media players like MPC. |
